Bamboo yarn is incredibly soft, hypoallergenic and naturally anti-bacterial.

Organic cotton is free from herbicides, pesticides and other agro-chemicals.

It's also super soft that's good for you -- and for the environment.

What are the benefits of organic yarns?

In choosing organic yarns over conventional yarns there are two main benefits

that have both environmental impact and personal well being implications.

Cotton

By farming cotton organically the harmful impact of pesticides to the land is

eliminated and therefore soil fertility and biodiversity is greatly increased.

Water is not polluted by these chemicals therefore aquatic life is maintained

and unharmed by cotton production. In the case of cotton by farming organically

pesticides cannot wash into the soil and ultimately enter our food chain, therefore

helping maintain a healthier balance to all aspects of our lives.

Bamboo

Bamboo just might be the world’s most sustainable resource. It is the fastest growing

grass and can shoot up a yard or more a day. Bamboo reaches maturity quickly and is

ready for harvesting in about 4 years. Bamboo grows rapidly and naturally

without any pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. Bamboo is highly absorbent

breathable and wicks away from the body.

A healthier consumer product

Since skin can ‘breathe’ and absorb what is placed on to it into the body, the natural

purity of organic cotton and bamboo from farming and processing greatly reduces the

impact of harmful chemicals being exposed to skins surface. Bamboo clothing

is 100% biodegradable and can be completely decomposed in the soil

by micro-organisms and sunlight without decomposing into any pollutants such

as methane gas. Growing bamboo improves soil quality and helps rebuild eroded soil.

Care: Dry flat Hand wash

Product Care Instructions: Items made from this yarn may be laundered through the

use of water, detergent or soap and gentle hand manipulation. No bleach product may be

used. A machine dryer may not be used. Item may not be smoothed or finished with an iron.

Victoria Day weekend May 21-23, 2011 was a wonderful show and I got to reconnect with a few old friends!!
My friend Lorraine from Dolls and Daughters "http://www.facebook.com/DollsandDaughters". Lorraine sews the cutest girls dresses with matching dolls dresses!!! My friend Sandy who does the most amazing job painting "Art on Glass"! I ordered some painted wine and champagne glasses for an upcoming wedding! And of course my cousin Kathy who graciously allowed my Mom and I to stay with her during the show! A big thank you to Kathy and Nick!!! I was surprised by another cousin Karen and her husband Dean who came to visit us at the Buckhorn Craft Show! What a wonderful long weekend enjoyed with the company of my MOM!!

For the warm summer days and cooler evenings these cover ups look great over formal dresses or casually over jeans. Versatile colours suit any wardrobe. For my Peel District School Board friends I am offering a "Summer School Discount", you are an amazing group of teachers and staff! Diagonal ponchos are $55. and shawls are $40. The cost of the yarn is usually 3/4 of the price, my cost is minimal considering the effort each piece takes to knit.
